i've done several hulks lately and I've got pretty decent color scheme. its a more medium green color than the cartoon neon yellow-green.
I base coat with krylon "John Deere/Case Green". Then do highlights with various shades of green mixed from Badger Model Flex Burlington Northern Green and European Dark Green. Then I'll do some shadows with a darker mixe of mostly the European Dark Green.

Well atomr, those pretty much are the colors for those two guys!
If you're going for a Marvel look, check out the comix for shading and other color nuances.

As for manufacturers, didn't Horizon have a line of vinyl kit-use acrylics out? Didn't Testors have a line too, for that matter? Yours are styrene kits, but they may have some specific colors like "Hulk Green" or thereabouts. I'm not sure, though.

Sorry, I realize this isn't much help!

The funniest thing is, I'm red-green color blind! Just gotta read those labels, and hope for the best!

Good luck with those cool figures.

Color scheme needed for Spider Man and the Hulk
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, August 18, 2003 11:20 AM
My local Hobby Lobby store had a 50% off all plastic models sale last week and I purchased a spider-man and hulk figurine combo manufactured by Polar Lights.

In reviewing the color schemes for both models, the instructions recommend that you reference the box art for the types of colors to be used. Additionally, the instructions inside just list the colors only (e.g. red, blue, black, green, purple) and not a suggested paint manufacturer.

I would like to be as accurate as possible in painting both figurines. Does anyone have or know of a suggested painting scheme for these figurines? If so, which paint manufacturer should I use?

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
