Glad I could help. This is a rather obscure piece of clothing, but I just happened to remember that I had a photo of it. Osprey publishes a book on Luftwaffe Field Divisions, but I don't have it yet, otherwise I could provide some more pics. Good luck on the diorama, sounds like you have good idea of how you want to make it. Let us know how it turns out. Thumbs Up [tup]

Kykeon:

Hi!  Thanks for the information, especially the picture which I've printed out fro reference.  I'll use it today when I paint the uniforms on my figures and let you know how it turned out.  Sorry I don't have a digital camera to post the pictures with but I do appreciate your help.  I've been using the Valleho paint a lot more these days and really like it so I'll try to work with the colors I've got.  Nice stuff once you get the pigment mixed - you really have to pound the heck out of the bottom of the tube to make it thick enough to put on with a brush.

BTW, I took your advice and changed direction on the Verlinden Eastern Front Dugout base and made it mud instead of water.  I put a couple of water puddles (just had to add the water)  in the mud since I really wanted to add something else in the scene.  I'm thinking of some snow as well but my friend said he likes it as is so that's probably out.  I'm using these figures along with the Tamiya Schwimwagen which is sitting broken down on the bridge with the figures walking away from it.  The NCO/officer  holding the MP40 is along side the vehicle like he just picked up his MG from the front seat area.  The wounded figure with the figure holding him up will be heading towards the dugout/underneath the bridge.  Haven't decided what to do with the 4th figure yet, might not use him.

Thanks againSmile [:)]

Charlie,

What you have here is the reversible diamond pattern quilted parka. Basically a German copy of the Russian telogreika winter jacket, it is a gray-green color that tended to look more grey than green, with white on the reverse;

The pants are reversible over-pants, here in the mouse grey/white, square quilted pattern, the same as the other parkas in the figure's box art. The white side out tended to look rather khaki, especially after considerable wear and washings.

You are going to have to mix your own colors on this, but don't freak out too much on the exact color, they had a considerable amount of variation, from olive-green, mouse-gray and blue-grey and in different patterns.

Dragon makes their 1/6 scale action figures in this too;

Guys:

Hi!  I'm currently building the new Dragon Gen 2 1st Luftwaffe Field Div figures and haven't a clue what color to paint the uniforms.  Although the instructions show numbers for the colors, I don't have a Mr. Color key so I'm just guessing and going by the pictures.  The figures in the box art look like a mousy gray  for the quilted uniform and something like a dark Kaki/English Uniform type color for the diamond pattern.  The instruction sheet looks like the mousy gray again but an olive green for the diamond pattern which is really confusing!  Then there is the inside of the hood/collar color - looks white or light tan.   I have both Humbrol and Valjeho paints that I use for my figures - I'd really appreciate any help that you guys can give.

Thanks

Charlie
