Hey
I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if the Tamiya dinosaur dioramas are worth the money?

Hey, Punkrocker!Smile [:)]

I'd say they are.
I don't care much for the sculpt of the Tyrannosaurus diorama (#60102), but the other 6 sets look great to me! And they're quite inexpensive, so I'd say they are very much worth the money. The Brachiosaurus set (#60106) and the Parasaurolophus set (#60103) are the best sculpts in my opinion.

The most expensive is the Brachiosaurus, and it's only 4,800 yen ($40 US) here in Japan. The Parasaurolophus is only 1,600 yen ($13 US)!

If you like the sculpts, I'd say get 'em!Wink [;)]

Well, nothing technically wrong with the sculpt, per se...actually, it's a very well done piece, as they all are. I should have said I didn't like the design of the T-Rex they chose to sculpt. It's quite original: big puppydog eyes, semi-alligatorish serrated back (like Horizon's old T-Rex, which I also dislike), kinda short and dumpy. The main problem for me is it's just too cute! It's kinda smiling, too.
So, basically, it's just a matter of personal taste, I suppose. While the sculpt itself is technically excellent, the design just doesn't fit my image of what T-Rex should look like.

Now, the Kaiyodo dinosaurs ROCK!!! Amazing sculpts, and I love the designs.
They ain't cheap, but they are, in my opinion, the epitome of dinosaur modeling.
Check 'em out!
