Hi John
1:18 scal is a very difficult scale to find models of especially since you are planning dio's. Another problem would be the size of the dio as it is not a small scale. I would suggest that since you are new to WWII dio's, why not start in the ever popular scale of 1:35? You can just about get anything in this scale for a dio that you would be planning. A good place to look for a start would be any of the numerous online stores with international mail order facilities. Here are a few of my personal favourite stores' URL's:
www.squadron.com ; www.modelmecca.com ; www.theredlancers.com ; www.greatmodelswebstore.com
All of these stores have a huge inventory of figures in all the popular scales. If you still want to do large scale dio's, then the popular size is 1:16 scale or 120mm. All of the above sites carry a vast amount of figures in this scale as well. I personally prefer to work in 1:16 scale but I don't do a lot of dio's in this scale. due to space constraints I limit them to two or three figure vignettes or just stand alone figures.
I hope this will be of help to you! Good luck
Cheers, Arthur
Work, work, work! You gotta put models on the table somehow!
