I found a bottle of Testors Silver gloss. 15 cents American on the price tag....its VERY liquid, actually more liquid than the current paint, and looks superior.  I dont dare use it!!!!

While epoxy may be stronger, for small parts, I've never had a prooblem with Zap-A-Gap brand CA glues. The problem with epoxy is you have to secure the part in place until the glue cures and make sure the part is in correct alignment. I tend to use this only for very heavy or large parts that can hold themselves in position.

Thanks - I'll try the epoxy.  By the way, enjoyed your signature tag - I was going through my old paints when I got back into modelling (after about 25 years).  One of my little paint bottles had a 29 cent price tag on it!

I would go with 5 minute epoxy. Ive had a lot of super glue failures on metal parts, not too many epoxy failures.

Simple Question - glue for metal figure
Posted by Comanche Test on Monday, January 29, 2007 6:48 PM

I'm building my first metal figure, a 35mm US soldier in Viet Nam war gear.  Got a simple question - the figure has one forearm that is separate, and must be joined to the rest of the figure.  What sort of glue should I use to fasten it?  I'm thinking epoxy, but I've got some good cyanoacrylic glues here too.  What is recommended for metal-to-metal bonding?  Thanks for your help.
