Since Verlinden was one of the original producers of aftermarket items and has been around about 25+ years, most modelers have used their items.  F. Verlinden is one of the fathers of modeling and dioramas and he started a whole technique and way of modeling that some still call the "Verlinden Way."  Most of their products are pretty good quality.  Some of their figures are closer to 1/32 scale though.

I have used numerous Verlinden products over the years. As has already been written above, Verlinden paved the way for many of the manufacturers of today. Along the way they "bulldozed" some independents into selling out to them to control the market. You can't go wrong using most of their line. Sometimes it is the only game in town.

When you stack a verlinden figure next to a plastic figure, you will defintely find a detail and size difference.  Thier Veitnam Chopper gunner is definitely different in size and detail than any plastic kit part, as are the carrier deck crewmen in 1/48. But, many times they are the only game in town (carrier deck fire tractors, etc...)

Their older stuff is actually better than their newer releases which have awkward poses with limited applications and occasional strange anatomy. Their pour plugs have always been problematic, either in difficult to clean places, such as across the top of helmets or huge ones at the waist. There are never any instructions with the figures, only a single image on the box. Quality control, for the most part, is pretty good.

I have built some of their 1/35th and 1/120mm figures and they always went together well but  one of the unique problems with the 1/120mm figures is the oversized hand which were too obvious. One exception was the SS Unterscharfuher which he has one hand tucked into his smock and the other holding an MP-40, I thought that was one of their better kits.
