Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, February 1, 2007 5:17 AM

Something real funny.. i'm doing part time modelling for 5 years now and i never see any death on any diorama !!!

It's a funny thing for a war !

War dont kill people... TV and Historians just lied to us all that time !! (alright i stop kidding for a moment)...

Did anyone of you know where i could get any dead soldier figures 1:35 from any company ???

(as you maybe realised french is my first language... so i'm sorry about bad sentenses)

Verlinden has quite a few nice casualty sets:

For every modeling technique that works, I have three that don't.

To do this realistically is NOT all that easy. A dead body does not look like a live person. The muscles are all fully relaxed. Sculptors create draping material based on a standing or kneeling pose with gravity acting from head to foot. A body laying flat will have the draping from highest point to lowest, in any case, 90 degrees to most draping on an upright figure.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

If I do that (reworking Dragon figures), I use guys sculpted in the prone position for the reason that Al noted. It takes some work, but you can make it look good with some heat (to mildly bend the legs and ankles) and some putty to fill in any gaps when positioning arms. Consider some aftermarket heads such as Hornet for better neck/facial expressions:
