Thanks for the feedback guys. On the tribal tat its a decal from Archer, they are definitely worth looking into, I have done several in 1/25 scale freehand and they did not come out this nice.

I started with girls in 80MM scale in '87  with Phoenix Phollies worked in oil, but that got too expensive for what you are getting. Excellent castings but very high pricetags.

Skin tones: I learned a lot from Codys Coop and his excellent tutorials and over at Hobbyfanatics forum boards.  Skin isnt that hard really, but blending some of those seams and filling all those pinholes in this kit was an excercise in futility!

I chose not to post the photos directly for a reason...

Nice work so far.....

Something I'd probably never even attempt -- I can't even paint a realistic 1/48 figure, let alone hide my mistakes on a 1/6 one!!! The large-scale figures really are an exercise in the fine art of realistic skin tones, muscle shadows, etc. Always very interessting to see this other side of the modeling hobby ;) Keep us posted.

(the links need some work to make them hyperlinks.... had to do some cut & paste to make them work for me)

Hi everyone. I got this figure over a year ago and started working on her. Cheap recast purchased from Ebay (beware Ebay recasts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). The hair, HORRID mass of holes and pinholes.  Legs badly mismatched in the molds, arms and wrists were separate at mid bicep and at wrist( three of four joints fixed , a sporty Ipod strap will hide the arm seam when I put her arm on). I basecoated the hair True Blue before I lay on the shadows and highlights. The hips came apart at the Gstring, and I had to mix milliput to get a positive lock between the leg and groin.

So, after a year, three complete repaints, fifteen revolutions of prime/sand/prime/sand/fill pinholes/prime/sand/paint/sand/prime/paint I finally got to this point. I'm SO happy to be almost done with her!!! Paint used is MM enamels with Tamiya chromesilver for the bikini, eyes were done in wargaming acrylics. The tattoo is from Archer Fine Transfer.  I still need to cut down the wooden base she will be on for her beach.

I wont post the pics here but you may follow this link to my photobucket.
