What is your favorite figure company. Mine is Dragon because I think they have good quailty for their price.

I would avoid Corree. My current Mt. Suribachi figure set is an excercise if frustration and futility, the resin is VERY poor quality and the sculpting looks to have been done very quickly, unlike the other high quality resin figures in all scales that Im happier with.

I do not like Verlinden figures, I don't care for the resin used and the sculpts seem anemic.

I have been very happy with Reheat in thier larger figures (120-200MM) very fine resin with excellent sculpts.

Andrea offers very high quality figures but the $ is a downside.

I've been a resin snob for a couple of years now. I agree with the above sentiment about Verlinden, and have sworn them off.  I was seriously disappointed in the molding quality of Carter & Crowley. The ones I am currently collecting are TANK and S&T. Warriors are an excellent fall back. Jaguar after that.

It's a few bucks more to go resin, but the quality is so worth it, in my opinion.

I have a couple of the Masterbox figures on the bench currently. The kit I am currently working on is the British Infantry set. The detail is very good. This kit is one of their first releases, I have seen others since that members of my club have built or are working on and they are getting better than Dragon with each release. If you haven't picked up a kit yet do so you will be surprised.

Cheers;

Hi Gregory, I was thinking about getting their 101st and 82nd AB kit and the German captives kit and take the 1 BAR man from the kit and have him guarding the Germans and then have the wounded paras also walking to the rear next to my 88.

Both of those kits are really well moulded. That would be an interesting diorama and easily understood by the viewer. Give them a go and post the pictures when you do.

For me it's a tie between Verlinden and Warriors. I like Warriors because the detail on each figure is astounding and Verlinden because they cost less than Warriors, but are still very nicely molded figures and also they dont break when I drop them (which I do quite a bit)

My answer is: it depends on the material the figures are made of, the historical period and the scale.

Considering only 1/35 (or 54mm):

Dragon is the best regarding styrene and from WW2 to modern, but Tamyia and Masterclass also have some nice ones.

Warriors and Blast are leaders for resin and modern, but some Verlinden figs aren't bad.
Jaguar has great figures for WW2.

Andrea, Pegaso and Romeo are undiscussed leaders for white metal and they cover almost all historical periods, concentrating on ancient and middelages.

This is my humble opinion on 1/35 scale models, but if you're interested I can continue on the other scales! Big Smile [:D]

The posing on the MasterBox figure sets, especially the recent eastern front sets, is top notch- better than a lot of resin figures. The gear could stand to be replaced with spares from Dragon, though.

I like Tank and Jaguar, and occasionally build Dragon plastic figures. Ultracast's figures are also excellent

I don't like Verlinden, and I don't like some Warriors figures. Tamiya is Censored [censored] and whoever poses their figures should be shotAngry [:(!]

....guys, what about ALPINE? ...with all the resin snobs on here (including me) I would have figured someone would have mentioned them...they have a limited line right now (they are fairly new to the market) but what they have is AMAZING !!!....

...I would agree, in styrene, DML can't be beat with variety and quality/price...

Yeah, I like Alpine's quality a lot. I am waiting for more action poses from them. They are superb for tank commanders and crews discussing strategy and posing for the propaganda photographer. Same with Takahashi. Yosci is great for soldiers "on break".  TAHK is still my current obsession, but it seems those get shipped from Russia via a small, battered dinghy.

Some good action poses in the Platoon/Pegaso family. Haven't tried the Resination yet.

I did forget to mention Nemrod.

For the 'action pose/scale/selection/availabilty/price' ratio, my dough is on Warriors.

Dragon for sure..price,selection and plenty of weapons and gear make them my first choice. I must have 50 of their kits, about half are GEN 2. I can swap parts out and/or cut and re-position and come up with some pretty cool poses. The downside is its mostly Germans.

I do replace heads and hands with resin if I need a different pose

I also like Tri-Star ( similar to Dragon) and Masterbox. They have some good Russian figures that can be manipulated too.
