WWI needs
Posted by Darr on Monday, June 4, 2007 5:08 PM

Hello All,

I'm working on a WWI diorama,

I have a pair of WWI Brit. MKV tanks, but I need figures.

It's in 1/35.

Any ideas?

I may have to scratch build them, I'm having trouble finding any in 1/35 in kit form.

I was looking at british troops, I was wondering about converting some WWII brit. infantry

to WWI, the WWI regular infantry uniforms seem similar to the WWII counterparts.

Any help would be appreciated.

For some reason I'm thinking that Eduard used to have a line of Great War figures.  But, I could be wrong, it's happened before and likely will again.

Frontline, Model Cellar, Fusiler, Ted Dyer Inc of http://www.japanesearmorking.com/, and a number of other makers all offer a range 1/35 scale WWI figures.

Hi there,

ICM have two Great War figure kits, one British the other German.

Andrea have a very nice charging British figure which comes with two heads, one with a gasmask on.

If you go to the Perth Military site, have a looksy under their news section for Toro models. In the last day or two they have released a 3figure trench dio in 1/35 scale.

Verlinden also have a two figure trench dio which i think was just released.

Warriors also have a couple of W.W.1 figures i believe.

Aside from what else has been mentioned, some stores might have figures from Tauro.I think the Tauro  has closed shop..they had some very nice Great War figures in a variety of poses.

I'm currently working on a Great War dio myself with a MkIV from Emhar, so i know what the situation is like trying to source figures!

Best of luck,

Shay

Shay,

I haven't personally examined the ICM WWI sets, but they do look like they might be a winner. Do you have these sets, and if so what is your opinion of them?

Here is a view of the battlefield at 3rd Ypres.  Your going to need a lot of mud!!

BTW Notice the track extenders fitted to the Mk5 in an attempt to keep it from bogging down!

Thanks a million for the links Shay! They look comparable to the old Airfix Multipose in configuration and detail. I might have to pick some of these up.

Cheers.
