Last summer my 8-year-old grandson paid us a visit. He's a dinosaur enthusiast. In preparation for his arrival I bought a Tamiya "Triceratops Diorama Set." It turned out to be a really beautiful kit by any standard: well detailed, with all sorts of interesting accessories and a nice, understandable instruction book. Ben and I spent several evenings building it, and the results, if I do say so myself, are pretty impressive.
Tamiya made several kits in this series - apparently with bases that fit alongside each other. Ben is coming again this summer, and I'm trying to track down another kit in the series. I fear they've been discontinued, but I've seen several of them fairly recently on internet hobby shop websites.
The one I bought last year came from Squadron, but that firm apparently has sold out of the "diorama sets." (Squadron does list a couple of the less spactacular, and cheaper, Tamiya dinosaurs without bases; if push comes to shove I'll probably go that route, but I'd really rather get another "diorama set" if at all possible.) Internet Hobbies doesn't list any of them.
Does anybody out there happen to know of a web source for Tamiya dinosaur dioramas? Any help will be deeply appreciated. Thanks.
