Your figure appears to be wearing a German helmet

Not the M1 US Army helmet of WW II

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

Looks better than my first figure. The straps should be a dark brownish color (I think). What kind of rifle does he have. I thought the only SNiper rifles used were the M1 Garand C and D and the 1903 Springfield. It almost looks like a carbine with a scope on it. A good book to get would be 20th century military uniforms by Chris McNAB. It has alot of good refernces and isn't a lot of $. I got mine for $5.

On the bench:

1/35 Tamiya M26 Pershing-0%

1/144 Minicraft P-38J Lightning-50%

Numerous 1/35 scale figures in various stages if completion.

You are right.  It does look like an M1 Carbine with a scope on it.  U.S. Sniper rifle systems during WWII/Korean War era were M1C and M1D garands with M82 or M84 Scopes and M1903A4 with M82, M84 or Unertl scopes.

During Korean War, there were scopes for M1/M2 carbines, but those scopes were for night vision system.

Well, pop the scope off, and the posing might actually be better.  It's a good, dynamic pose as is (and sniping is generally much more calculated, still, using supports for the weapon and such--generally the opposite of a great dio <g>).

Web gear could be several colors, including a green most of that dark.  But, a khaki drab color would look "more" right to more folk, like as not.  Also, the boots ought to be brown leather, with a canvas "legging" in a khaki drab to khaki to tan sort of color.

But, not bad.

Also, you may want to straighten up that barrel.  It looks like it's bent.

G43 sniper rifle, 8mm Mauser

also the webbing looks like mauser ammo webbing and not garand or carabine ammo webbing to me.      and let's not forget the helmetWhistling [:-^]

Its not a G43 because A, the clip is too long, and B, the scope is alot farther forward.

The rifle you have on that figure is not M1A1 carbine, but it is M1 carbine with some sort of scope on it.  M1A1 carbine was a folding stock, pistol grip paratrooper model.
