Here is the finished set of 4 painted with Vallejo acrylics and Silflor grass for the groundwork. Here is some background info on where these soldiers were located:

"Novgorod, located south of Leningrad, is a prominent historical city in northwestern Russia. Interestingly, its name means "new city". And after the brutal fighting of WWII, a "new city" had to be virtually rebuilt on the site. Originally occupied by Germany on 15 August 1941, it was recaptured on 19 January 1944 by a massive Soviet offensive. Fighting was vicious, and of 2,536 stone buildings in the city, less than 40 remained standing after Novgorod's liberation."

Buddho,

Very interesting patterns on uniforms on these figures.  Nicely done!

They look great! The wash on the quilted fabric really brought out the texture, and I'm sure it looks even better up  close in person.  Who makes that set of figures?

Thanks everyone

The Dragon figures were painted with Vallejo acrylics and the original heads were used from the kit. This is the 2nd Generation series, which gives some PE details and extra weapons, etc. I had to do some dryfitting to make sure all body parts fit berfore gluing up each one.

 Regards, Dan

those Gen 2 figures do look impressive from what I've seen....forgot to ask in my other post, whats the grass?  The woodland scenscs field grass or similar I'm guessing?  Looks very convincing.

I use stuff called Silflor grass, which is a matting that is hand torn and glued down with Elmers. It comes in different heights and shades of colors depending on what season you want. It can be purchased here: http://www.sceneryexpress.com/departments.asp?dept=1040

Thank you Eric.

I went by the instructions showing a light olive green and medium grey for the 2 uniform colors. Unfortunately, the colors on the instructions looked off, so I tweaked them a bit.
