1/10 Young Miniatures 101st Airbrone Nomamdy 1944
Posted by wooty on Saturday, September 1, 2007 2:20 AM

Hello All,

This is my first time on the Figures Forum and is the first time at a bust of this type.

As the title states it is a bust of a soilder from the 101st.

It took me roughly a week to complete.

Painting was done with acrylic paints and i used Tamiyas weathering sets A & B for tones and shaddows also using a wash of mixed dark acrylics.

All comments welcome?

Thanks For Looking!!

Nice one, Robert. Pics a little too sunny to make out the skin tone, but a really good presentation and nice detail painting.

I find direct sunlight too harsh for photographing miniatures. Using a more controlled light source will give you better results.

Not bad for a first in this size. You might want to consider doing more blending of your shadows. The netting on the helmet may have been the same color as the helmet in real life, but getting some variation in tone will give you figure more  pop. You need to redo the flag. The top bar is red, not white. You've also laid the stars out in a 50 star pattern on the canton. It should be the 48 star pattern where the rows are even.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

Thanks For Looking Guys,

Steve, i'll see if i can get some better pics up soon!

Ajlafleche, Flag is getting redone now, also the netting on the helmet is a lighter shade of drab than the helmet, i done this trying to get more of an effect, but obviously didnt work.

Anyway time to stop typing and time to start correcting.

All The Best

Robert
