Looks great to me, the highlits and shadows in the cloth look nice.  There's quite a bit of face color on the inside of the hat.  Also, not to be in any way racist, but I think the eyes should be a little narrower for a Japanese pilot.

Overall looks good, but skin tone seems to be more like a caucasian than an asian.

 I don't think those are real kanji - just something drawn to kinda sorta look like kanji . . . .
