USMC WWII jacket question
Posted by stikpusher on Thursday, September 13, 2007 2:51 PM
In cooler climes during WWII, Marines used a short waisted jacket similar to the Army's M-1941? I have seen photos of it being used on Iwo Jima. What color was it? The Khaki Olive of the M-1941, an OD green, or something similar to their dungarees?

I did find a website which stated that the standard m-1941 field jacket was issued to all services until replaced by the m-1943, which would lead me to believe they were army olive drab. Hope this helps.
