hey guys, this is my first 54mm figure.  I painted it with a mix of pollyscale and Citadel paints aswell as valejo and Model Master.  The dirt is from Mig Pigments.
oh and the fig is from Andrea.

How cool is that! Those brass details must've been tough. You've made him come to life, though.

thanks jt, glad you liked it... the trick I have found in the past for anything to look "good" is to learn how to fix your mistakes and make them disappear.  That was the trick with the brass... though I did use Paul's technique with the wash of Tamiya Smoke, and I'm very happy with it!

James,

I've always been amazed by your work in subjects of armor and didn't know you were into figures.  I'm amazed again!  How are you doing and how's Mrs?

Very nice James, especially if that's your first effort in 54mm.  Well done.

Regards,  Rick

This looks a great piece of work, James. What is the true size of this 54mm figure James, 'cos I know that Andrea are slightly smaller than others?!

Thanks for the comments guys, much appreciated!  Paul, I'm not too sure what the real size is.  I have no other figures of this scale to compare.  The next one I'm going to do is an Andrea fig too, but once I get into some other stuff from Michael Ball and things like that I'll be sure to let you know!  Glad you liked it.  I like the pics, but to be honest, no matter how much light I used they still came out pretty dark.  It doesn't show the shading and highlighting on the pants and great coat well enough.   But I'll leave it at that I guess!

...54mm is comparable to 1/32nd scale...nice fig for a first effort...some of the elements of this fig can be made even better...drybrushing the horsehair backpack and headgear will bring the "fur" texture out a bit...and adding a little pink to the cheeks and lips will liven up the face, etc...good job!!!

James, jus' measure it up with a ruler. The figure i'm paintin' at the moment is 54mm categorically speakin', but the true size of it measures in at 72mm, this is what I mean. I've found that the majority of Andrea figures stay true to 54mm, which is too small for my likin'.

Manny I thank you for your comments.  I will say though that there will never be pink in my flesh tones!  There is enough of a glaze of salmon rose over the flesh to give it the look of rosy cheeks from the cold.  Most of the time I find that if you do it too much, it'll look like it's wearing make up.  I do thank you for the suggestions though, can't make everyone happy!  :)

Paul, I will measure it up once I can find ma ruler mate!
