Thanks, guys. As far as the dio... I'm debating back n forth whether to a) take the easy way and put them in sand, or b) have them fighting their way through the surf. The figure on the far left is designed to be in water- at least his hair is. I'm trying to convey that momentary feeling of disorientation after being knocked around and under by a wave.

Wow! ...they look great Steve! A couple of them remind me of the poses on the beach at the National D-Day Memorial here in Bedford Virginia ...alot of those boys in the 29th were from here in Bedford.

Your work looks great and really captures the moment.

Hey, really great. I love the poses. You got a real sense of action and desperation happening here. I love seeing kitbashed figures and unique poses. That way nobody wiil ever have the same dio as you. Can't wait to see it finished.....Bow [bow]

Looks great Steve! The two outdoor pictures make the flesh look really pale, but it must be just the lighting, 'cus the close up look absolutely amazing!  I've got most of the GI's and engineers put together for that diorama you were helping me with.  I don't dare try painting them though until I've got plenty of practice with figure painting.  Looknig forward to seeing these guys finished.  Are they going to go into a small vignette/dio base?

Thanks, Manny. Two upright figures are straight up Warriors, other two are bashed together with the likes of Verlinden, Warriors, DML, plus Hornet heads.

...wow...are those DML figs?  I gotta say that I am impressed...I like what you have done so far w/ the flesh tones---I really like the stubbled beard on the one guy...as it is a WIP I am sure you know that you still have a chin strap to paint on one of em...once you finish w/ a little dry-brushing and some filters on the uniforms and equipment I think these are gonna be top-drawer...

These are GIs, 29th Infantry, storming Omaha. I know the subject has been done to death, but I've yet to capture one myself that I like. Skin tones are what I'm putting up for critique, most other aspects (pants, equipment) are not yet finished or started. Base coats in Vallejo, shading with oils. There are those out there who have retired their oil skin painting, I am still trying to get the hag of 'em.

Sorry that my photography ain't so good. I know it's difficult to critique a color you can't quite see. I'm trying to figure out the best lighting I can to show you the truest image of what I've got so far. All welcome to comment and critique. Please. I'll accept the harshest.
