Very nice painting.  As you noted, maybe a bit too glossy, but otherwise looks real good.

Excellent work on the eyes and the braid.

It may be washed out in the flash, but it looks like you dould use a bit more shading and highlighting.

The foam based shrubs really don't work in this scale. The make the figure look like a giant.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

Hi, Just another figure I put together.  This one took about the same amount of time as the Tamiya 1/16 German Elite figure.  It's from Verlinden.  I tried a few new things with this figure in regards to the base.  The base is actually cast resin but I was able to achieve a real wood look from it with the way I laid the base color down and subsequent inks on top.  I was pretty happy with the way this one assembled.  Virtually no screwing around with fixing a sculptor or casters mistakes.  The watch chain on the side was a piece of funky gold rope I purchased at Michael's for like 20 cents.  I ran a chestnut ink over it to give it depth.  The only thing I think I would change on this would be the protective coating I put on after it was done.  I was hoping for more of a flat look, but it came out more semi gloss.  A little irritating, but I can live with it.  I have a second one of these that I'll incorporate the changes into when I do it.  Hope you enjoy.
