The words "second of many" jump out at me. You might want to consider going to a paint formulated for figures, such as the Vallejo or Andrea lines. Both have flesh starter sets. Andrea's for sure has a tutorial with theirs to guide you through the process. Newcomers who've tried this before learning habits, good or bad, have said it works quite well.

Unfortunately, most plastic figures have very soft features making painting more difficult.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

This is the second of many that will be incorporated into a vietnam dio. I think that the face turned out much better than my last one, but there are a few things i'm not sure if i'm doing right. I suspect that I didn't thin my paints enough and that is why the texture is so rough. However, i'm not sure what to do for the eyes. I suspect that in scale they will look ok, mind you the pictures are huge and the figure small. I'm using enamels right now. What can I do for blending? I had done the base coat and let it dry before shadowing and dry brushing, but should it all be done at the same time? I tried to blend using sparse thinner on my brush, but instead of blending it, it just kind of wipes away the shadowing. Any suggestions would be much appreciated and I will try to icorporate in my future figures. Thanks
