Stikpusher.... if you want a really nice resin US WWII pilot in a casual standing pose, the 1/35 scale Bronco Grasshopper kit comes with one. The kit is not expensive and is pretty good quality and not too expensive. I bought one not long ago and was quite pleased. The resin figure is really well cast and was a real nice surprise when i opened the box....

This is the figure, assembled but un painted. I have no idea of the kit number. I boupght him years ago at a show and he's been in a plastic bag at my desk. PM or e-mail me if you want to do some sort of trade. Better someone paint him than he spent the rest of eternity in a bag. Smile [:)]

The crew chief in the ball cap sounds like just what I need. Do you have an item numer on the set? I may just get lucky at  a LHS around me.

Verlinden used to have a pilot (in B-2 leather jacket) and a figure who could pass for a crew chief wearing a baseball cap. I still have the crew chief lookng guy though I painted the pilot. If you don't have any luck in your search, let me know and we can arrange something. (That is, if the crew chief is complete.)

I looked on both of their sites and did not see anything that would really work for what I am looking for.

US WWII Pilot/mechanic figure Q...
Posted by stikpusher on Sunday, March 2, 2008 2:29 PM
I have an idea for a diorama and need a figure in 1/32/54mm for a early WWII US aircraft mechanic/crew chief and pilot.  I have searched most of the major hobby store websites and am not having much luck. I can do a figure conversion for the pilot if need be, but the crew chief is really proving hard to find. Any suggestions out there?
