"The Surge" Iraq
Posted by JayDog on Tuesday, May 6, 2008 6:18 PM

Hello all, I recently picked up two two US Marines (Verlinden resin) during the "Surge" in Iraq and need help in the cammo color-scheme as well as any tricks on completing the painting. I am thinking about using fine-felt tip architect pens. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

Thanks!!

Do you know whether the Uniform is DCU style or MARMAT (Digital Camo) pattern?

I remember someone on these forums showing how they made digital camo by using salt and an AB... can't remember who or when though.  Basically paint the base color, add salt grains while still tacky and let dry.  Overspray in small areas with color #2, add salt grains while still tacky and let dry.  Shoot color #3 and rinse and repeat.  Once dry, remove salt.  Should work well if done right.

If DCU, I got nothing.  Sorry.

Thanks for the info I will search the forums and look into the 'salt-method', the cammo pattern looks to be digital.

That's the link.  Check out armorama's figure section, there's a guy over there who got the (ACU) colors down a bit better than I did.

That's the exact thing that I was thinking of, Arkhunter.  Good find.
