time for figure converting!...a few boxes of the Tamiya #35207 and Dragon #6197 should do nicely!

SJ--dio looks great. figures need Dullcote though.clothes should be dead flat unless its leather

You could do a lot worse than use the Tamiya 1/35 Russian Army Assault Infantry set (#35207) as a starting point. 12 well-sculpted figures in combat poses, with lots of suitable equipment and weapons. Good value at $US18.50 or less.

Here's the set he's talking about, I used them for this SU-122 dio':

I did have one "casualty", don't ask...Really nice set of figures overall, great poses!!!

My say would be no. Although pants and boots would be similar to German unforms, the tunics (gymnastroika) padded jackets (telegroika) and headgear are far different than most other countries unforms. If you look, there is quite a good availability of WWII 1/35 Soviet figures out there. At least as good as US and more than Italian or Japanese.

Hey,

Thanks guys for the information.  I have another question.  Would it just be easier if I just tried to convert misc. figures into Russian soldiers?

Master Box has some really good sets in 1/35 that might work nicely for your diorama. Zvezda has a few recent releases worth a look. Also check out Mini Art's line. And also check out Dragon's line up. Between all these and the previosly mentioned Tamiya set you should find what you need.

You sort of have to make due with what you can find as far as Russians go, they really dont make many soldiers for them, same with the IJA.  If your going to have anything like close combat, I suggest looking up master box's russian vs german set, has 4 figures fighting hand to hand with things like entrenching tools bayonets, helmets as weapons, its a nice set

Hello all.  I am planning on doing a diorama of a firefight during the Battle of Stalingrad.  However I am having a really hard time finding Russian soldiers.  Does anyone know where I could find a larg amount of them?  Thanks
