Field gray. In all its' variations. Like, khaki and olive drab, there was alot of variety to the quality and color of the basic material depending on age, time of manufacture, etc.

Field grey, or feldgrau, is greenish-grey. Misleading, but Vallejo sell a good version of the shade.

On the different items I have seen preserved in various museums, the color has varied from a greeneish gray sometimes with brown or blue tints as well. It depends on the material used,  age/use of the item, etc.

Certain garments, such as early officer's breeches, were a bluish-grey color...also, towards the end of the war the M44 tunic was more brown/khaki than field-grey...
