Figure modification question
Posted by ww2modeler on Monday, May 26, 2008 12:37 PM

Is it Okay to use regular Squadron putty in figure modifications? Not like sculpting new legs or anything but just like using it to surround sprue.

Heres a picture of what I meen: (The middle part is sprue surrounded by putty)

Sorry about the quality of the picture.

Thanks,

David

You'd be better getting some epoxy putty, even the stuff in hardware stores, than using a filler putty. The amount needed will take forever to dry.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

Thanks, I'll look into getting some of that.

I am using magicsculp, or you can use Aves.

I have modifed and even made some of the arms on my USMC Mt. Suribachi figs, and always use my magicsculp and a wet finger to fill in the seams on my resin figs both big and small.

A great investment that really does cut down on all the problems associated with using things like contour putty or green stuff.
