Great job on the black brick Manstein!  What colors did you mix to get that?!Laugh [(-D]

I really admire your work Manstein, that's why i was suprised to find you had done something so Risque.  But i think you gracefully found a way to back out of an argument in the last post, and present your work in a somewhat classier manner.

Now all you need is a magician with a saw standing next to her and you have a David Copperfiled diorama.

As for the accuracy, I believd the Russians issued a more "Heather Grey" color box to the females in that era.

Oh 'ere we go again with these ridiculous censorship rules! I saw the previous images earlier of your work with the nipples and vagina blacked out...and now we get this?!

Manstein, from what I can see or saw of your work it looked great, its such a shame you had to do this. The word 'vagina' will probably be censored on here now, too.

you've got quite a photobucket there :P

I'd be interested to know where all these end up, are they in cases around your work area? and if so, do you have a picture of the room?

So far, I've just got a little shelf that just has a few models on it... for some reason the barrels and guns on them tend to point towards me... hmm...

Appreciate the feedback, Eddie...coming from a true figure master like you it means a lot...this is that Seil fig I told you about in your Roman Centurion thread...

I have another girl fig painted but what would be the point in posting?

If I could make a recommendation, the black box is a little too black, if you know what I mean.

Personally, I never paint anything straight black. It's too dark. I almays mix in a little Panzer Dark Grey (for a cool tone), Nuetral Grey or Red (for a warmer tone).

Just my My 2 cents [2c]

Well, you might want to share your female figures here. It's a site specifically run for female figures though the home page suggests they have lost the ability at this time to host unclothed figures.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

What does my head in is that a young boy when he sees somethin' like this on this forum is only gonna' marvel at it or snigger an' laugh! What damage can it possibly do?! Its insane!

Here in the UK, we have a newspaper called 'The Sun' and on page 3 there is always an image of a beautiful topless girl. When I was a kid I would buy a copy, and most of the time cut out the image of this beautiful woman, stick it to a wall and throw darts at it. Two targets were always better than one! Laugh [(-D]

Big Smile [:D] Now, now. That may be the case in the U.K., but in America the only people allowed to see naked boobies are newborn babies.

And if we could figure out a way around that, we would... Laugh [(-D]

It is not censorship, this is a private site and the owners can allow or block whatever they like, contrary to the beliefs of some members.  It basically comes down to the fact that there are rules.  The owners of this site have decided that one of their rules is that they won't show nude figures.  Other sites do allow it, so be it.  If that is what you are looking to post or see, try them.

What I don't get is why some people continue to post them and push the rules when they have repeatedly been told that it is not allowed.  Some have been disciplined for it as well, yet they either just don't understand or they choose to ignore them.

I hope you aren't referring to me, as I originally posted the figure w/ the nudity blacked out...I have posted similar figs in the past, as have others, w/ no problem...And, no, I don't think I have a "right" to post in here...seems as though the bar has been lowered on what is considered nudity...

I don't think HeavyArty's post was directed at you, Herr Feldmarschall, and for the other posters, I don't think it was meant with any negative or negatively critical tone.  I read his post as refuting a point that was implied by another post, that censorship is in play here in the FSM forum.

Whatever everyone's opinion about what content we should be allowed or not allowed to show, nice work around the black box.  Do you have a site with more shots of this or other figures that you've done?

Regards,

Brad

No, I wasn't referring to you specifically.  It was just a general statement about rules, perceived censoreship on the site, and people pushing the limits.

Y'know, I dont know where you host your pics, but I believe flickr allows nudity.  It might be worth looking into, because then you could provide the link to your pics and everyone could see your work without it being pulled.  I do like whats around the box though, good work.

If at first you do succeed, try to hide your astonishment.
