Gene, I'm using different thicknesses of cardboard, mainly 0.5 mm and 1 mm, the paper of the kit itself is rather heavy as well, I've messeared it with my (cheap) digital calliper to be around 0.225 mm (about the same as Bristol paper).

Nice. Did you mount the paper on chip board, or something? It looks like you are using something thicker than poster board.
And using spot putty to fill in the gaps!! How plastic-like. :-)

Hello ladies and gentlemen,
It's been many years since I have visited this forum regulary (it was before the change of forum software, I think). The reasons for my long absence are too long to list, but just a few of them are : a buildingstop due to health issues, activities in other hobbies, and last but not least ; less activity in plastic and wood, while more in paper.
I have just found out a few minutes ago, that FSM forum now has a "Paper Models" subforum, while ironically it was thrue a 1998 or 1999 FSM magazine that I stumbled on paper models (there was a little add with a download code for a free model from FiddlersGreen).
Anyway, I haven't built that much in paper during those years... well, that's to say ; I have started many models, but never actually was able to finish one, so I'm still an inexperienced beginner.
However, since March this year I have been working on a paper model, of wich I'm rather confident I will be able to finish :)
