Need help with fuselage covering
Posted by Bis on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 4:34 PM

I am working up the nerve to apply the paper to the fuselage of my P51. My question is, since the sides of the fuselage are flat and a solid piece of wood, do I coat the entire side of the fuselage with glue and apply the paper or just the outside edges? If I do the out side edges should I glue the paper where the wing spars go into the fuselage?

Also if I glue the entire surface, I won't be able to shrink the paper to get a nice flat surface, so it will have to be right the first time.

I hope all this makes sense , thank for any input.

From, Crockett Texas.

Hi Bis,

You might post this in "General Modeling Discussion". Not a lot of stick and tissue modeling is discussed here, so it's interesting to hear from you.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Thanks, I posted over there. Couldn't figure out how to just move it, so I typed it over again.

Good idea. Looks like you are getting responses already. This particular forum is for models entirely made out of paper. Needless to say, people don't look in on a lot.
