Just saw, on youtube, an independent production of TOS, which went back to 1st Pilot canon. Film is meh; they should not have used Enterprise as it "breaks" the Capt. Pike cannon.
But, mostly, they needed a CGI model lat least half as good as yours--especially if they are going to do that many CGI closeups.
