Revell Cylon Raider

I got this and the Colonial viper as a package deal for 20 bucks and I needed a break from the WWII aircraft I normally build. Two things I noticed is there's no reference to scale on either one and it appears to me like the raider and the viper are not the same scale. Placing the cockpit of the viper up to the raider it seems pretty cramped for a crew of three large robots.

I took alot of liberties with this so it is not accurate to the old show raider. I left off the wing stripes, the bridge between the engine covers and the inner wing perferated piece under the cannons. I painted completely with MM metalizers paints, I think use just about every color they make on it. I couldn't see highly polished robots painting there fighters.  weathering was also done mostly with metalizer paints. Very little of the weathering was done with chalk. I gave it a well used but not abused look. This kit has a ton of nicely molded on detail that can be bought out easily with the right painting and weathering. besides for that nastly seem that run all along the upper and lower halves this is a very simple kit to build. Other then leaving stuff off the kit is built out of box. I think I gave it a more modern look.

Thanks for posting those pictures. I'm building one of those Raiders now, and I've often thought about painting it entirely w/ metallic colors.

Turns out it looks really good. Smile [:)]

Thanks guys, The traffic down here is far less then I'm use to in aircraft forum. the idea was to make a different from the viper as possible. It looks like I may get a start on that this week. not too bad for an aircraft guy.
