1/144 RX-79BD-6T Blue Destiny Unit 1

This build was bit different from my normal build up.
Due to the personal reason I can't use my AB setup so this was done by hand using can spray and hand brushing.
I must say it was nice change since it was a long time ago when I build one by hand brushing... ^ ^

It's just one of what if~ version I often build.
The number 6 on its shoulder denotes that this is 6th unit built by Titanz to trial the EXAM system - among six units first three were half finished test units and the other three, 4, 5, 6 were fully built working prototypes undergoing test at the hand of Titanz Test Team...
well that's my lame explanation... -__-;

The Zaku II FZ head it's holding is from my FZ build.
After testing the pipe mod I decided to stick with the kit items and this left over head becomes yet another addition to my short list of scenery accessories that I use for photo shooting/diorama and etc... ^ ^
By the way this is not part of this kit. It's just being held for the photo shoot only hence its lack of weathering..

I like the build, disklike the hand and the head.

The way his hand is it looks like hes about to pitch the zaku head underhanded in a softball game.

The head itself, the pippets for the wire arent stretched enough.  Remember those were armor pieces to protect power wires, they would stretch out if it was grabbed (Especially because of the size and weight of the Zaku head.

If you wanted to make it more realistic, I would use a better molded AM hand that is gripping and have the power wire either stretched (using a spring or some ugly toob) or ripped from the joint in the front and dangling.

Bandai only gives that hand for left arm... -___-; Besides I don't have any spare HDM in 1/144.

The Zaku head is for the photo shoot only. It's not meant for the kit...Otherwise I'd have done what you said... ^ ^

Dj, im really, really disapointed with you.

There are bandai after market parts, under B club.  There are other companies that make AM parts for gundam kits, you can make your own, or mod them.  Use hands from other kits.

Just because the kid does not come with extra that is no excuse.

Tsk tsk, for shame.

well... what can I say~?

I managed to knock this one over after several weeks of frequently interrupted sessions.

probably took me about few hours in total apart from paint drying time but spread over number of weeks... -___-; When you have 6 month baby to look after on top of 5 yo school kid you will know. Besides I only can work after missus is gone bed... Yea~ I know it's not much of fun especially bulk of my supply are all packed and stored away in the garage.

Anyhow like I said I don't have HDM in 1/144 - thought I did but only have enough set for Minelayer and GCII... Also this one was built strictly out of box with no aftermarket option parts - 'coz I know if I started to use option parts I may never get it done this year. I already have enough kits at varying stages waiting to be picked up...

For my attempt at hand painting after several years of exclusive use of AB I thought I did quite well - sure the weathering is bit iffy but I was trying the method of rubbing the coloured pencil by thumb... Guess I may need to put some chipping and few others next time I pick this boy up~

I do appreciate your comment mate. ^ ^

It's always nice to hear criticism rather than applause~
