haha, okay.  i will help out on the photoshop part if u got too much stacked up.  i am a system engineer by trade but a graphix artist/freelance photographer on the side so that will fill up the void between studying for the GMAT and reading design specs during my free time (u can see that modelling isn't even getting its fair share of attention these days for me)

its not that hard.

I buy the kit, I build and paint(or not) the kit, I shoot the pics of the kit, then I Photoshop the crap out of the pic and blam! comic. still confused?

well, most of the builds are already done as I will be using most of the kits I have in the strip. As for say, the STV Custom,....... I kind of left it at home when I came back to Japan after the holidays...... thats why I have not been posting as much lately in the past month or so.

I have plans in the works to build a new Gundam 2.0 compleet with the water slide decal sheet that I bought months ago. this will be started in a few more days and posted in here as will all future builds related to this comic.

also its good to hear about your Acguy, hopfully you can fix him up real nice.

How are the builds themselves coming along?

I have actuially started making my own acguy, if you saw the wip in no excuses, im making my only sloppily glued together 1/144 VINTAGE Acguy look nice and perdy.  Im doing him up in a nice sky blue, and 'true blue' as the color is called.

I am very lucky in the fact that I live in Japan. I will be buying all the kits and assembling them myself. I have  a WIP for the Acguy STV custom up somewhere but I may just move all the web comic builds to this thread to make things easy on all of you.

Hope I answered your question, cause now its time to put Photoshop on my new netbook computer.

later,

Ok I have a question.  How are you going to get these Gundams from other people, like STVs custom Acguy, to take the photos?

If at first you do succeed, try to hide your astonishment.

I follow Twisted Kaiju Theater alot, reading every update as soon as it comes out, and thats where a major chunk of my insperation comes from to do this. I have some help already, but if you can get those articals, I would love to see them.

Also I picked up a old 9"-11" Getter 1 action figure with some halfway decent articulation for about 2800 yen. thing is huge next to my 1/100 gundams.

This seems to be quite an interesting project. I've seen a few guys use Figma figures (due to being flexible and being able to switch heads with different face BLOCKED EXPRESSION make comics by taking photos in different positions plus a few guides in the Hobby Japan mag on how to go by it. If I come across those articles again I'll pass them along...

Keep at that Photoshop...

I can't wait to make it. I just have to fix my PhotoShop CS3 and get a better photo booth set up for shooting and I will be set to go. the time it takes to get everything done,... there just is not enough time in the day. Sigh [sigh]

A very Gunpla Web Comic.........WIP
Posted by Puma_Adder on Friday, October 24, 2008 3:00 AM

So as some who have read the "Lack of respect for mecha" thread already know, I am starting a web comic using the only creative means I am anywheres near good at, Gunpla and a Fuji S700 camera. This is also going to acomplish a task that i have wanted to tackle since high school, learning to PhotoShop better.

I am in the casting stages for the comady Ver. as of now and this is the cast as follows, at least until I think of something else.......

Puma_Adder (that would be me) - Gundam RX-78-2 2.0

King Nekketsu - God Gundam

Smeagol The Vile (yes, our very own STV) - Acguy STV Custom

Klossner666 -Gundam RX-78-5

Tauxu - Mass Production Gundam RX-79[G]

Setzer - Red Frame Astray Gundam

(     NAME TBA      )- GP02A

Sakaragi - ( MS TBA )

(     NAME TBA      ) - Zaku II MS-06-R2 SMC

Also, random apperences by other mecha will be common place in this little comic of mine. I will have some help writing the different story arks in the form of one of my Navy friends. Any suggestions will be welcomed, but please don't feel put off if an idea you thoght was really good does not make the cut, I just cant use all the good ideas at the same time. After all, this is something to let me enjoy a part of our little hobby that is fun for me.

 your tall @$$ Marine friend,

       Jason
