!!! 1/1 SCALE PREDATOR MASK!!!!! WIP
Posted by Puma_Adder on Monday, November 3, 2008 5:15 PM

Well, this is kinda kills all my other projects for a bit.

This morning one of my Sargents said he needed to talk to me about something. I though that I had done something that was wrong and that I was in for an @$$ chewing. I was wrong.....    Instead, he aproched me with a project, which if you don't know what it is, you need your eyes fixed or something. so for the next I don't know how long my gundam and other updates, not including this one, will be even fewer and far between.

Pics to  come later.......

You should just cut the head off a predator and throw it in a jar of formaldehyde.

Be much simpler...

The good news is I only have to clean and paint the mask. I am getting an airbrush to work on it so that it does not look like crap when I'm done.

The person in the pic is the Sgt. that owns the mask.

The plan is to turn this into a welding mask as well as a cool collectors item.

Ok, thats pretty awesome.  How are you going to do it?  Are you going to add damage and such (the alien claw marks) to it for him, or just paint it?

The way it sits in my demented little marine brain, I want to add the damage, but the mask is kinda not very well molded. there are thin spots in the fiberglass and any damage to the plaster on the outside of the mask could be disasterous and ruin the expensive mask.

however, I do want to add the laser sights on the side and have them work for an added touch of bad@$$. that and I am a big fan of the AvsP comics and movies, so working on something that someone is going to wear is a giant leap in the right direction for me.

while I am working on this monster mask(LoL) I will also try to work on the web comic.   Keyword, TRY.

More pics later,

Jason

EDIT- Looks like the lasers are a no go for now Sigh [sigh]

Wow, I havent seen you round here in a bit, where you been?

to answer your question, it is made out of fiberglass and resin. havent done much with it in the past few weeks as me and my Sgt have been busy doing other things around the shop.
