Big Smile [:D] I got two of the coolest macross kits to date!I have been looking for the VF-25F for about a month now and the VF-25S just hit stores yesterday. these kits look like they will be fun to build, as they are very much like the Gundam kits.

cant wait to start! Pics later.......

These are the new Bandai 1/72 kits for Macross Frontier. I am also working on a 1/72 P-51c Mustang for scale pupouses.

Cool looking kits.  I cant wait to see.  Let us know how the transformable thing works.  I have the MG GP01FB and I cant get the guy to stay together.  That's really annoying after all the clipping and sanding work.  But at least I put everything together OOB first to see it so I didn't invest too much work in it.  I dont know that I'm ever gonna finish him cause I was really annoyed.  Now that I think about it, I also had trouble with the HG Double Zeta.  That one I cant even get to stay together.  I think the GP 01 was mainly the weight of those boosters pulling him apart.  Since then I've stayed away from variable suits.  But these certainly look awesome, I especially like the black one.  Cant wait to see a WIP

Gundam fan boy kicking in.......... GP-0fb is not a variable suit, just one with a core block system. Ok, Im done.

but yes, the transformation looks solid. I don't forsee any hazzards such as the kit falling apart, mainly because the newer Ver. 2.0 Zeta is a very stable kit with the exception of the V not being able to clear the front half of the torso when you try to bring it back to robot mode. the VF-25's dont appear to have that problem from my looking at the instructions. the VF-1S on the other hand, I dont Know. cant wait to get all the gear I need to finish these bad boys up.

What's the magazine?

Ya gotta give us a play by play on these. I saw them for sale over at HLJ and I've been giving some serious thought to building one or two.

I can't decide between the Bandai kits, or one of the Hasegawa ones; hopefully your thread will help me decide.

No pressure tho'... Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

I can't remember off the top of my head what mag it was, but I got it out in town so its all in japanese. I will try to get pics of it and the 25F up soon. I have been here, there and everywhere as of late.

as for which kit to go with, the bandai ones can transform more often than not and the Hasegawa ones are fixed in one mode or another. both are top noch from what I have seen. all my kits are bandai though. more to come.......

Later.

I've had my eye on these as well.  Maybe after the holiday shopping's done.  Of course, it's not as if I'm short on Macross kits; been collecting the Hasegawas to start on after I get some other projects done.

Keep us posted!  It looks like Bandai did better than usual on producing these!

The new bandai kits are a mix between a HG 1/100 gundam and a MG 1/00 gundam kit. they have all the great detail of a MG, with the hands of a HG. all in all, I like it. I like it alot.

Actually, just thought of a Macross "wish list" item, from either Bandai or Hasegawa:  a good VF-11 Thunderbolt.  Unless you can find them in resin, the 1:144 scale 2-fers are the only kit that was produced in any numbers.

Come on, Hasegawa!  You made the movie-version Ostrich with boosters and the demo team VF-1s!  Where the heck is a VF-11 for my lineup?

If that's the veritech MAC II, I just saw that thing for the first time 2 nights ago on youtube.  Let's just say that my reaction had my girlfriend pretty worried about my mental health.  That thing is just W-R-O-N-G ( in a good way ).

Of course, that hasn't stopped me from plotting some kind of conversion job with my spare 1:200 Monster kit...

Uhmm, maybe. I'm not sure. Here's what I was thinking of:

The Glaug (bought one too):

...and the Monster:

Coolest as a gerwalk, IMHO.

Yeah, that Konig Monster is the beastie I was talking about.  I hadn't seen the battloid mode in the video.  It would be a challenge, but I think I could eventually pull off a kitbash of the G-mode.  If I ever do, you'll know it because you'll be able to hear the Dr. Frankenstein-like maniacal laughter all the way to Louisville.

I also stocked up on the officer Glaugs in 1:100 and 1:200 scale when I found them cheap on evilbay.  I figured the spares will be good for BattleTech Marauders.

And if I ever get my hands on a VB-6, you will hear that mad scientist laugh all the way from Okinawa to all over the world!

Just when you thought you had all the Macross VF's...

Seems the RVF-25 Luca Custom is slated for February release, no pics avail yet.  I guess that's the EW variant in green.  Hopefully for the added cost they're including the drones.

So can any of you with the '25s read the Japanese paint info for exact matches, or just trying for closest matches you can find/mix?
