The thing w/ nukes is, most of the damage they cause is done by the superheated atmosphere around them; shock waves, heat transfer, etc. In space, there's no atmosphere. That's one (of many) reasons there weren't considered for the Ballistic Missile Defense system.

Great build there!

Nukes were only effective against Goa'uld ships if you could get them past the shields.  They would've been effective ( if expensive ) for AAA duty against swarms of gliders in the big battles, tho.  Fire off a few into approaching formations before launching fighters for mop-up.

yea, they would beam them onto the ships and such, I meant more like, entire missle batters with nothing but nukes, its space, who cares about radiation in space

They used nukes quite a bit. Used them against the replicators a few times, tried to blow up an asteroid the ghaoul tried to ram into earth, plus more times that escape me right now. They had missles on the ships that they used as well.

I always wondered in that series though, why they didnt use more terran weaponry with their ships, always asgard stuff, but im pretty sure a missle battery full of nukes would do more damage, or 302s armed with nukes and whatnot, as opposed to energy weapons.

There's also a 1/24 scale version of the X-302.  Pretty nice lookin' kit, too.  Forget who produces/produced it, tho.

Wait a minute, I missed that in the show.  Deadalus and Prometheus?  Was somebody on the production staff for SG-1 a Macross fan?

Sorry about messing up the link thingy. I have the BiG D and the 302. Still ahve to build the 302. The Big D is a great kit. The 302 is going to require some work.

Starship Modeler Store is the website hyperlink.  They've got a 1/2500 scale X-303 Prometheus-class kit in the store right now.  They've got a 1/2500 scale Daedelus-class, as well, but it's currently Out Of Stock and they've got a fairly long waiting list.

They also had a 1/72 X-302 for a short time, but it's not shown back up since last summer.

Does anyone know if there are any Stargate models? Like the X-303 or X-304?
Thanks to anyone who can help?
