...or a Monster or maybe even the Koenig Monster!!  I just saw the Ma.K. kits you mentioned today.  The main one I would get is the M61A5 tank with twin cannons but the 9000 yen price tag is a bit of a deterrent for me right now.

OK, here's what I've done so far with the $5 "2-fer" in 1:144.  Consider it a "sketch" of what I have in mind for the 1:100 transformable.

As a bonus, here's the Israeli camo VF-11C fighter so far.

There's still some detail work including the wash and decals to go on all of them, along with painting the -11's cockpit.

I went ahead and bid on the auction and the kits should arrive next week.  I'll see what the kit is like and plan further detailing from there.  At the least, I'm thinking of making a custom gunpod for the "Berkut" styled after an AK-47.

Ohhh, now your talking.

They're supposed to start kitting vehicles from the Ma.K. universe (starting w/ a Falke in 1/20 scale), we should be able to talk them into a Regult or a Glaug, or a Defender, or a Spartan... Tongue [:P]

Even if the subject doesnt really interest me, see my large collection of aircraft kits, I wont pass up a  kit for 5$ and under.

I don't know, for $40 I think you would be better served w/ one of the Hasegawa 1/72 Valkyries. Better kits, and cheaper too.

The 2-fer kit in 1:144 is WIP and was the $5 one.  I'll be posting pics here soon.  What I'm debating is whether to get the 1:100 transformable VF-19 Fire Valkyrie for a chance to do a better job on the "Berkut Valkyrie" ( we'll just call the 1:144 "practice" or "proof of concept"? )along with a spare 1:144 VF-17, VF-11 MAXL ( which I'm not to keen on, but it's in the set on auction ), and VF-11C 2-fers that are all in the auction lot for a little under $40 at this point.  Thanks to someone posting a link to the "New UN Spacy" site, I could use the -17 and -11C ( some fun alternate paint schemes for Valkyries there ).  The Berkut-style 2-fer I started for fun turned out looking better than I thought and I'm trying to figure if a second pass at the idea in a larger scale is worth dealing with that transformable kit with the bad reviews.

BTW, I'll also be posting pics of the Israeli camo VF-11C soon.

If its only a $5 kit, then why are we not seeing a WIP on it already! its only 5 bucks!
Some people spend their whole lives wondering if they made a difference. Gundams don't have that problem.

Big Smile [:D] I have to ask myself the same thing all the time. It's a sci-fi modeler's constant dilemma.

If it's gonna be a weekend build, w/out too much investment in time or money, I'd say go for it.

If on the other hand, it's gonna take you 40+ hours to get it to look right, I'd skip it for a better kit.

Just for fun, I got one of the Fire Valkyrie twin kits ( fighter and battloid in 1:100 scale ) and am almost done with it using an alternative paint scheme.  I noticed one day that the fighter mode looked a lot like the Sukhoi Berkut and figured I'd have some fun painting the -19 in a simlar way with Russian markings.I really liked the results.  Nowhere near contest material, but a fun little project for a $5 kit.  I'm planning on having it on the shelf next to the VF-11 in Israeli camo that I'm also finishing up.

Now I have a chance to get a 1:100 scale transformable Fire Valkyrie and am thinking of using it to make it into a better redo of my "Berkut Valkyrie."  Between the bad reviews I've seen of Bandai's 1:100 transformable Macross 7 kits and the potential silliness of the idea, I figured I'd check with you guys and see whether the idea gets more "that sounds cool" reactions or suggestions for an intervention.Big Smile [:D]

Anyone?  Anyone?  Bueller?  Bueller?
