MPC Vincent & Maximillian wanted!
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, December 1, 2003 6:18 PM
Hi.

Anyone got one of these Kits spare that they would like to part with.
Preferably, I would like to get hold of 2 Vincent Kits, so that I could make a Bob too.
Big Smile [:D]

I am fedup with E-Bay and how most sellers won't sell Kits to people outside the USA.

We can either arrange IMO payment or a Kit trade if there is something you want from this neck of the woods.
I think I saw a Cylon Battlestar not too long ago lying around at one shop.

You might submit a want ad at the Starship Modeler Trading Post. Have you tried a Google search?

Found plenty of references via google and a possible Resin Bob to go with the Vincent.

Might need to try the Starship Modeler Trading Post, haven't used it so far.

Hobby Kansuke here in Osaka recently had a Maximillian going for 7,000 yen, MMF. Give 'em a call at 06-6646-0520 and see if it's still there! (How's your Japanese?)

They specialize in mail order, so there should be no problem sending it Kanto-way!

I'm still thinking about getting that Space:1999 Hawk they have there...

Thanks, for the info. Hope they got a catalogue.

I could try "Times" up here 2 problems though they are really out of the way and way over-priced, especially on overseas stuff like Aurora, etc.

And after seeing the price ($80) for the 1/48 Hercules Spectre by Italeri yesterday I need to do some planning for pricier Kits.

Hey J-Hulk, what's 7000Y translate to in USD? I recently bought the V.I.N.CENT off of Ebay for $20 or $25. They are still out there, just got to find the right seller. I had been tracking the V.I.N.CENT for about a month. I saw some open kits missing parts, partially built, going for lots of money, but my kit was mint in sealed box.

I still have my Maximillian kit that I built 20 years ago and some bits and pieces of my Cygnus.

7000Yen = $65 or there about.
Not too bad, considering it is an old and imported kit.

I tried a few auctions that offered those kits on E-Bay, but the sellers refused to ship or even deal with anyone outside the USA.
I have been done some deals via E-Bay but got so pissed of with most people that that I decided to skip it.

Hey fellas, whaddaya reckon the rarest and most expensive of the three Black Hole kits is these days? Gotta be the Cygnus, eh? I've heard they go for around 300 bucks USD. Wish I knew where mine went...

Sounds like fun.
Not sure of size, but I think a 1/100 Zaku Head internals might make a good light for it.

You know the new ones where the light and button battery are contained within the 1/100 Head.

I am talking Heads like these:

http://www.hlj.com/cgi-perl/hljpage.cgi?BAN908840

You get 3 in a set, the internals are bassically the same they are activated by a magnetic switch.

You can eithers use them as a replacement head on the Kits or use the supplied stands to simply display them.
Most of the Photos in HJ are photoshoped to light the eyes, etc.
I think I have some unused ones lying around somewhere in the spares drawer, let me check.

BTW, I visit the local 100yen shops to look for lightning supplies and usually find a small treasure trove.

LOL! Yes that's where i shop too but here they are called $1.00 stores!LOL That's where i get my goodies! Still that is not a bad price. i thought you were refering to Gundam kits that included the light. Far too rare and expensive of an item for me to be parting out!LOL thanks for the link!

Just noticed this thread and I was happy to see there is intrest and I'm not wasting time and money. It just so happens that an "Old Bob" resin kit is in the works as we speak an possibly a companion Vincent for those who missed it the first time around. I have no specifics yet as work is not done an prototype is not in my hands. Will post info on these kits when they become ready to produce.

MMF, I stopped into Hobby Kansuke today, and Max was still on the shelf for 7,000 yen.

I was saddened to see, however, that the Space: 1999 Hawk was gone...well, ya snooze, ya lose!

Thanks, haven't fully decided yet if I truly want it or not.

I am going to Mandarake on the 29th, I will see if they got one in stock.
They often get the most amazing Kits in, last time I was there I picked up a 1/600 Bandai MechaGodzilla for 1.500 Yen and they had 3 in stock.

Not sure when I get next time to "Times(Magic Box)" as they moved some years back and now are REALLY out of the way, the other 7 Magic Box shops are still in same location.

Which Mandarake to you go to? I've been to 2 in Tokyo: one in Shinjuku, and one in Shibuya.
We have one here in Osaka, too, in Den-Den Town. Nowhere near as big as the two in Tokyo, but nice nonetheless!

Good hunting, MMF!

Nakano Broadway their Head-office, a few minutes on Chuo line from Shinjuku. They got multiple Shops there each one dedicated to a specific theme (Cars, Tanka-bons, Anime-Cels, Plastic Models & Action Toys, etc.)

Next time you are up drop me a line and I will take you, Nakano Broadway has other shops that also sell plenty of Kits, Toys, LD and generally weird stuff.

Howdy, MMF!
Sorry, missed your reply until now.
Sounds cool! I'll give you a buzz next time I'm up in Edo.
