It's a kit called Imperial TIE Fighters by AMT.It's OOP,but you can still find them on ebay.These TIEs are roughly 1/48 scale.Much larger than FM.

Agreed!  I like the lighter colors as it catches the eye better for details.  Plus, the contrast between the solar panels and main fuselage colors really stands out better.

I think they are blue in ANH as well.They look grey until seen against a grey background.

The base and two TIE's are one boxed kit.If you can get your hands on this kit,grab it.Easy build and good parts fit with plenty of detail.
