My Top 10 Starship List - Part 1 & 2
Posted by Skonch on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 6:01 PM

Hi there folks!

Although this is not a model post, it is relevent to anyone who is into their Scifi, plus it is a creation of mine, I suppose you could call it a Multimedia Collage.

It is a montage of my 10 most favourite Scifi Vehicles.

Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRODdWKzDV8

Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-5wuuiG0WU&feature=channel_page

I hope you enjoy them.

Nice compilation.I personally would have had a Star Destroyer in there somewhere.I couldn't agree more on the Falcon.

Yep, the Star Destroyer really should have been in the number 2 slot, but I had to make a sacrifice for the other craft as they all have come from scifi film & tv programmes that I have enjoyed.

Yeah where's the Rodger Young?  I mean this ranks up there with the USCM Sulaco.

Yep! I can't really argue with your observation. Damn I'll have to re-do the film now....

The top 12?  I guess my problem with Star Destroyers on the list is there aren't any distinctive ones.  None of them played a big name role like the Falcon, where you really knew the name of the ship (unless you are one of us and can name them all).  The Executor would be cool, but it had only a few minutes of screen time before it became part of the most expensive collision in galctic history.  Your video editing is great and I learned about some new ships.  Good job.

If at first you do succeed, try to hide your astonishment.

Ok, here's some craft that nearly made the list:

Spinner - Police car from Blade Runner - Just about the coolest SkyCar seen on film

Star Destroyer  - Star Wars - First you saw the Corellian Corvette, that was cool, then there was the ship following it, it went on......and on......and on......and on, then you saw the engines, I was blinded by its awesomeness.

X wing - Star Wars - Every little boy in 1977 wanted one (I preferred the y-wing for some strange reason)

Thunderbird 2 - Thunderbirds - another iconic Gerry Anderson creation

U.S.S. Cygnus - The Black Hole

Guardsmen22, is that your Rodger Young build?  Where did you find that kit?  It is simply gorgeous!

A veteran is someone who, at one point in their life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America," for an amount of "up to and including my life."
