Very nicely done!  Thanks for sharing the pics.

BTW, not sure if you know about this or not, but Replicas Unlimited makes a to-scale TNS Cylon Basestar.  It's available thru Federation Models, under Replicas Unlimited.

The Alliance kit is about six and a half inches long. About as long as a medium-sized hand (wrist to fingertips).

Just got the base finished. Mounted the Galactica with an upward angle and just want to say that I really worked on the painting. The model is small and, due to my progressing illness, my hands have developed a persistent tremor.

For the main hull I used an acrylic flat dark gray. I used some liquitex acrylic red, thinned down, over the gray in the hanger indentations in the hull (on the show, there is always a red glow from inside there).

For the armor plating, I used Model Master Arcryl F-15 Dark Grey, using the dry brush technique to preserve the panel lines in the armor. I used Van Gogh cadmium yellow artist oil paint thinned with solvent, to paint the round shield device on top of the hull (along with cadmium red artists oil to go around the outside of the circle).

The base is a simple pine panel I purchased at the local crafts store. Stained and varnished it, and then used part of an eigth inch dowel (drilling a small hole in the pine panel and then drilled the bottom of the hull at an angle, so the Galactica would look as if it were moving to gain altitude).

All in all, it was a fun build. I'm glad I've returned to the hobby.
