Okay. IIRC... This started out with a basecoat of light grey over grey primer. Then I painted it a combination of burgundy and silver on the raised panels. Then I oversprayed with transparent silver blue metallic enamel from a can. So the ship had a bluish caste to it for quite a few years. Finally I got tired of it, and sprayed it with transparent green from a rattle can. This gave the burgundy panels a more brownish look. Then I repainted the silver and brass panels. I then sprayed it with gloss pearl clearcoat which subdued the bright green and acted to blend all the colors. I repainted the Klingon insignias on the wings. I repainted the dome on the underside and added gold details to the command pod and secondary hull. Windows were applied with white decal film. Then a coat of dullcote was done folllowed by weathering with gel ink pens. Then more coats of dullcote. Finally, I painted fluorescent orange in the gaps between the grill on top of the engineering hull and panels on the warp nacelles. Here's a detail:
I then tinted some future acrylic with transparent orange acrylic and painted the inside of the round photon torpedo launcher in the bow and the shuttle bay door on the rear so it appears to glow with an orange light. So as you can see it was serendipity that I got the look I did after all these coats of paint !
