I personaly wouldn't use one of Argama's mega particle cannons as a guide in this case, but thats just me. I would try to stick to something like the Magellan battleships or the Sallamas crusers for the fact that your turret shell looks more like one of those ships and the barrels of those turrets are very easy to make. Unless of course you want to tackle something a little bit closer to the F91 time frame, in which case go with any of the Zamouth type ships from the F91 movie.

Ok, I'v made alot of progress IMHO on the cannon.  Using some lineart as a guide

While thats not the type of cannon Im using (thats a smaller variant) I took some of the designs for the targeting and such aspect that are coming off of the gun.

I'M still trying to come up with more ideas for what to go inside the turret

I'm sorry if I came off as trying to say 'rip it apart and expiriment', I was just wondering if there was a way to do it.

as for the look of the build it self, I pray for the souls of the poor bums in that sallamus, magellan and or burmingham class ship its gona be pirched over. Laugh [(-D]

I kinda wish I had finished my own F91, but then again I have about 25 other mobile suits to construct such as that custom GM of mine, God gundam, the STV custom Acguy, and the second of my Gundam 2.0's. Also finish the Gouf 2.0 I just got a week ago........ Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg]

actualy, my earlier comment gives me a question to ask, is it posible to get that look of the veiwscreen without horribly mangleing the pit?

Looking good so far! I really like the ship turret idea.

on a side note, as a U.C. Gundam junkie, I have to tell you that your cockpit is a little off. the entire inner wall of the pit was a veiw screen due to the fact that by that time all new MS had the 360 degree screens.

Thanks to the help from the ship guys (so helpfull!) I have decided to take the bottom off (HARD) and scratch build some interior details for the turret.

Though its a crappy picture the main gun on the front and sides are what im modeling this cannon after.

Ok, bottom is removed and I'v done some work with it, since I dont really have any lineart of the inside of one of those guns, I'm gona use my imagination and starwars.  I'm going to try and build a few areas inside the turret with computer banks and such, add a massive slue of cables and whatnot coming to and from the computers and the gun's mounting

Heres some of the work done on the bottom now its removed

Well, I have been working alot more on this, its taking ALOT of sanding and priming and puttying.  Alot of small crappy seams and imperfections that I need to fix, its going to take a while.

I took the arm off of the action base, cut the raised edges except for those on one side, slid it into the PVC pipe then measured the size of the notch at the base of the arm.  I then used my razor saw, dremel, and file to cut out a notch that width.
I then slid it back on, and super glued it in place so instead of it being forced into place it can raise and lower, like the turret will beable to turn.

As far as the turret turning, I ordered clear Styrene rods for displaying kits, Im thinking of cutting a hole going from top to bottom in the center of the turret and using the rod to support the mech as well as allowing the turret to turn, but I might not, what do you guys think?

Also, what do you think about scribbing some pannels onto the turret like on the base, yes or not? Also again, should I put some small search lights on the top of the turret?

Well, while im waiting for my airbrush I have done ALOT of work on te base of this thing. I have started hand brushing the base, I primed it with handbrushing.  The pipes arent done yet, I'm going to give it all a black wash, but I painted all the recesses wtih the darkest green I have for depth

Instead of using the base as the stand like it was intended I decided to use some of my styrene to build a light turret for the ship(base).  The cannon itself is styrene like I said, the Barrel is PVC pipe.  I want to put a dust cover over it, but I'm not sure where to start doing that.

The project right now is sort of on hold untill I get;

A - Package from Mechaskunk

and

B - My AB back from bader repairs

Im not gona hand brush the armor, just the internals and details.  In the mean while I have been trying to hand prime the base for this, using a Master grade stand tht bandai started putting out  not to long ago, really large things, but cool.  Going to paint it up in the colors of a Crossbone Vanguard Battleship if I can get the colors right.

Here is my latest wip, I'm working on this F91 I had gotten from hobby fan on sale a WHILE ago.  Not sure on the colors yet...  I thinking sky blue and something... I have no idea yet, the white is just a primer.  I'm using black green for the frame and internals.

I finished the pilot and the cockpit completly.  Pilot is lime green, black gloves and boots, sky blue for the mask, pink for the detailed, then a brown then a black wash for detail.
The cockpit is done inside with hull red, the seat is light gray and medium blue.  outside is the hull green.

I'm not gona paint the armor untill I get my AB back from the shop
