what if..........in armour Sci-Fi modeling

I've seen lots of these on ebay but never picked one up. Anyone know about the quality of the kits?

Very high quality Kits given their age, 20yrs ago they were superb today still they beat, IMHO, many of the other kits out there.

A few Kits have some slight fitting problems feet on the Fireball and it's variants, but nothing major or anything that will preent you from finishing a Kit.
Many of them came with lights(everything hidden), could be motorised (motors no longer available) and were some if not the earliest multi-material kits(wires, springs, metal meshes, rubber parts, etc.)
In addition some offer multiple versions and markings.

Easy to super-detail and in nice 1/20 scale.

i've only just finished one kit....RACOON.........and they are easy fitting with the arms and and legs fully articulated. i really don't believe you need much in the way of written instructions in that there is fine blow-up diagram of kit assy. There is also at least two painting suggestion patterns though the colour suggestions are in Japanese, any military armour browns, tans, greens, and the like would work based on the pattern of your choosing. My first posting to this forum has 4 web sites with regard to these fine kits with one being a site of purchase from Japan though few are available, unfortuneately, however, a seller (philhobb) on E-bay might have some kits for sale.

Ma.k kits are great quality wise and it's pretty mch the only Sci-fi I build now (or try to build lately) There are a couple of books released in Japan for the Ma.K line. One is long OOP and the other can be bought online. they are both in Japanese (and german) but the pics tell the story.

Ma.K kits can be purchased from a few places, but HLJ or Rainbow 10 are the best. Rainbow 10 seems to be restocked more often of the two and just easier to deal with.

If y'all are buying off ebay..you're probably paying a lot more than you should for the kits (unless they are the couple that are out of production). I just saw a Raptor go for $50+ (withour shipping) while you can get them new from R10 for around $27.

Unless you really need that kit "Right Now"...Save up the cash, wait for it to become available again in a month or two and order a few kits at once to save on shipping.

Pricing and value depends on WHO released a Kit from the series.

After the name change a few companies started to issue kits and conversion Kits.
Examples:
Silicon Tribe offers some Kits in 1/16 scale that are RESIN kits, the are in split mode with FULL interior details for the Cockpit.
Modelkasten offers a range of Resin/Plastic conversion Kits for the NITTO Kits.
Wave has a few plastic models out that cost a bit more than the NITTO ones.
Yellow Submarine and a few other Companies offer 1/35 Resin & White Metal for the wargamers.
There are also a few non-japanese offering of SF3D Kits out there like a 1/20 Nutrocker, etc those are done with permission by Kow.

A Modelkasten Conversion Kit will cost more than the new Wave kit of the Raptor.

True about the WHO...sorry for the confusion. The Raptor that was on ebay was one of the new 1/20 plastic ones.. not the resin 1/16 kit or conversion.

Do you have any connections for other garage Ma.K kits?
I'd like to know where I can get my hands on a 1/20 Nutrocker.

I think it was one of their members that did their 1/20 Nutrocker.

As for a better Airbrush I would recommend the Iwata range.

That's be Shane....I've spoken to him. He's not producing them anymore and still owes people one. I thought maybe you had another contact in Japan or something.
