Ma.K 1/20 scale anti grav armoured raider
Posted by Buddho on Sunday, October 18, 2009 12:39 PM

Here is a 1/20 scale Mak Armoured anti-grav Raider kitted by Hasegawa (orginally by Nitto?). It was a pleasure to build with no problems.

Added sprue for buttons on the console in the cockpit:

the pilot was modified to give a "thumbs up" look...added seatbelts:

Drilled out instrument bezels and added foil covered with 5 minute epoxy with clear red:

The raider was painted with Tamiya Acrylics, and weathered with Vallejo acrylics. The sharkmouth and eyes were painted with Citadel acrylics. The engine was painted black and drybrushed with rust and silver and washed with brown ink.

All comments welcome...Big Smile [:D]

Gorgeous, you did a great job on that.  How was the build?  I have been wanting to do one of those for a while, ever since I first got into Ma.k

Awesome work!

I'm something of a closet fan of the MaK stuff and have considered "coming out" and getting this kit.  Too many kits in the backlog at present, tho, to justify to Wife buying another of something I've never built before.

Thank you Smeagol and Griffworks. This kit was so easy to put together,,, I payed $67.00 from HLJ...a bit pricey, but worth it imho. Plus, I would like to see your finishes!

I was going to use this female soldier whos been modified to wave, but she looks a bit tall compared to the raider:

Nice, very nice. Good colors, excellent weathering, very cool.

Got any close ups of the finished pilot?

Huzzah!

Man that is a REAL eye catcher!

Ok,,,,,where did you get the base figure for the pilot to convert? I have the fem Brickworks heads, just not the correct bodies.

If you aren't having fun, you're doing it wrong! Build to please yourself and they will flame you every time!

Simply an awesome job. Some day I'll have to try my hand at one of those things.

Thank you Cosmic J, Ti4019, and Swanny.

Ill have to take some pics of the pilot...dont why I didnt earlier! The pilot is from the kit and I replaced his armour face mask with clear plastic and plastic edging. I thoroughly enjoyed this kit, I hope you all get one in the near future.

Whoa, that's a very nice Falke!

I especially like the sharkmouths, very well done.

And you definitely captured that MaK 'worn and dirty' look.

Awesome build, congrats.

Looking at this model again, I have to say that the groundwork impresses me too. May I ask what you used for the plants and flowers? I'd like to do something similar on one of my Ma.K. kits.

I used Silflor grass and ballast sand from Scenic Express. The other shrubs were dried flowers from Michaels. The rocks were taken from a construction site where alot of debris was piled up.

A minor footnote: The kit was all new from Hase, having not been done before. It's their initial foray into MaK and leaves fans anxious for what more they'll be doing.

That said-

Really like your take on it and the results are most eyecatching!

Kudos.Bow [bow]

Thanks for the footnote and compliment, MrSquid2U. If you like this one, you will definately like the other Falke posted in the sci fi forum!
