Monsters in Motion NX-01 Light kit - Question
Posted by Big Jake on Thursday, October 22, 2009 8:55 PM

I pasted the light kit link below , I ordered this for a client and and I'm ready to drop it in. I thought they forgot to put in some instructions but I found out none comes with the kit.  They don't even tell you what goes where? I can figure out port from starboard, it's the placement in the warp drive engines that has me puzzled.

I have a rudmentry idea of what goes where, but on the rotating nacells do I use the kit clear plastic parts also?  Do I fit the led flasher Circuit Board throught the plastic part to hid the circuit board?  I've had to drill the holes slightly bigger to fit the (CB)  up against the plastic part.

I sent an email to  MIM and got back "No one ever asked us for instructions before, I don't kow what to tell you".  That's kinda stupid if you ask me.  They charge $50.00 plus shipping, you'd think someone would have sat down and wrote out a few paragraphs?

Anybody have this light kit and used it yet, a little guidance would be great.

Thanks

I'd help if I could, seems silly to make a lighting kit with no instructions.

I make a kit that does all that, and it comes with instructions and color photos of how to use it.

Mind telling me who made your product so I can beat them a little better?

Thanks!

Looks like that kit may have originated from Federation Models.

Look under lighting, they have a kit that looks like the one on the MIM site.

If so contact them to see if they can supply you with instructions.

Madman amd others

No name no nuttin'.  I did not expect this from MIM. Can you send me some infor on your product?  I contacted Fedeation models a bit ago and discovered that the MIM light kit is made in China and does not come with instruction. site unseen he described it perfectly, so he seen or heard of the problems.  I'm going to contact MIM and see what we can do about this.

THEY NEED TO LET BUYERS KNOW IF SOMETHING IS MADE IN CHINA!!!  IF I FELT LIKE SUPPORTING CHINA, I'LL USE SOME SULFEROUS DRYWALL!!

Madman, can you send me some info on your kit.

Madman kits are all made entirely in the USA and come with complete instructions, including color photos of how it all goes together.

We sell some products thru MIM but mostly through Starship Modeler's store, here:
