Fine Molds 1/35th X-Wing.
Posted by terry35 on Saturday, November 14, 2009 8:38 PM

When I found out that Finemolds were releasing a 1/35th X-Wing I almost crapped myself with excitement, just couldn't wait to get one. Forbidden Planet in Dublin got some in but the price was €249 yeah thats almost $300 U.S. I could under no circumstances justify that kinds price for a kit.

I go into the store regularly as its on the way to the pub. I was in there a couple of weeks ago and looked up at the X-Wing I had always wanted and had to look twice, was this price sticker right, €89. Oh, Yeah Baby, that I can afford and it will be a great birthday present as I turned 40 last week. Plus I was saving €160.

The best way to describe this kit to anybody who does not know what its about is simple.

  • It's a prepainted kit produced jointly by Finemolds, ArtFX and Kotobuyika.
  • The kit is based on a 3D cut away drawing which I think is based on the Dorling Kindersley book.
  • The kit assembles up from a kinda of chassis and can be stripped down after assembly to show off different sections.
  • The kit comes with Diorama of the hangar on Yavin 4 with figures and equiptment.

It assembles quite easily into a beautiful display piece.

On with the pic's

This is the box picture showing the cutaway concept.

The box front.

Thanks for dropping in to take a look. I have more pic's and will post ASAP.

Terry.

I'd have to see more, but it looks like it would be worth the expense.

I could totally see spending a year and a half building that up right. Big Smile [:D]

Ssssssssh.................Dont tell anybody but this actually builds up in....... Check your P.M's....

It is an excellent piece and one of theh most beautiful things I 've seen from fine molds. But The question of  €249 ...well ....it's a lot of money.

Given what Fine Molds did with the Falcon, a 1:35 X-Wing might be worth the price.  Is that the final figure and when's the release date?

Aah! Understood.

Good looking model, though. If I was rich, it'd be on the list. Cool [8D]

Well I finally got time to get some pics uploaded, so here we go,

Whats in the box, well 6 smaller boxes like these.

each box contains a set of instructions. The back of each box shows where the parst would locate on a X-Wing.

I'm just going to let the pic's do the talking. The quality of the pre-painted parts is first rate and while discussing thte build with friends the only thing that came up was the possibility of wiring it up.

Well thats all Folks.............

Thanks for dropping by,

Terry.

The release was last year some time. Monsters in motion would probably be the best place to find one in the States.
