My AMT Enterprise progress
Posted by slingshot392 on Saturday, November 14, 2009 10:42 PM
Here is the progress on my 18 inch AMT Enterprise. I'm close to assembling all of the main parts and then on to painting. So far I have been very happy with this model and the fit was a lot better than I was expecting. I put the build article on my web site.

How do you get links so they are clickable? I didn't see an icon for inserting them?

Thanks!

Post the link, and then make sure you hit the Enter button to put a line after it - that usually works for me.

Thanks.  I had tried that but it didn't work.  When I tried to paste the link in, it would open up a text box that I had to enter things into.

I can post new topics or reply to one like I have here, and I can find a button anywhere to put up a post in a thread by itself?  Haven't been this confused over a board in quite awhile! Smile [:)]

Wow, that takes me back. That's the second kit I ever built, way back in the mid 70's. Smile [:)]

Keep up the good work. Thumbs Up [tup]

Write text, select it, click the "chain" (link) icon, and enter your URL.  Or you can use BBCode...

Out of curiosity, what color are the caps on the front of the nacells this time?

Thanks, I built this one as a kid after a couple dragsters and I am really enjoying this build, other than some (hopefully) painting, I'm just trying to keep this one as simple and out of the box as possible.

Thanks.  The link buttons never seemed to work when I am entering text, all of the other buttons do?

They are white and th buzzard collectors are a separate piece.  I am painting the rain right behind the cap first, then I will tape it off and then glue the cap on, it just seems easier that way.  The buzzard collector is one solid piece with two recesses, it still wouldn't look quite right if you just tried to paint those recesses, I saw where someone filed the recesses away (the recesses don't go quite to the front) and then glued them on after the model was painted and it gave a fairly good representation.  Just have to remember to reall sand the inside of each one because of the raised part number and I believe at least one of them has a raised injector pin.  I will probably just stick it in a chunk of Silly Putty and use a #10 blade to scrape it away and then flip the part over using the Silly Putty to support the piece and then scribe most of the recessed part away and then file as needed.
