Thought I'd share some pics of my scratchbuilt spaceship. I saw this on the back cover of a Heavy Metal Magazine (May of 1978 or 79 can't remember which), and thought I'd give it a try. A balsa master was carved, and vacuformed with .040 sheet styrene. Hope you like it!
That.........., is cool! I just might have to consider "modifying" that concept to accept velocity amplifier drives, and build it !
Lead me not into temptation ..................I can find it myself
Hey that is very cool! It's nice to see something besides the usual suspects.
That is pretty darned cool.
That's pretty cool. The construction is very clean and precise. I really like the period paint scheme - was it difficult to do?
Can you tell if the original picture was painted by Larry Elmore? It looks like some of his work.
I did a quick scan of Elmore's website, and didn't see anything like the ship. Lots of well done paintings, but no space ships.
To be honest, I no longer have the magazine,..just the back cover, and it shows no signature. Dave.
Painting wasn't that hard, just a lot of time masking! Dave.
Yeah, I don't doubt it. I'm very impressed - I have a terrible time whenever I try to do something similar.
Okay, not what every scifi builder wants to hear- but, that's CUTE!
Uhummmmm,,,,,I mean, that's really cool!
Very cleanly executed and sharply done.
That's just plain cool!
