Thanks Sean,

Actually that's not too bad for a large garage kit and the photos on the website show lots of nice detailing. I've blown my hobby budget for now but probably will be picking up one in the future. Biggest problem with garage kits I've found is 'if you want it buy it now since you don't know if it's going to be there tomorrow'. So hopefully in the near future.

Thanks again!

I bought one from Tony Lamb about 5-6 months ago and I believe it was in the $200-$250 range. It comes with detailed instructions and a cd with many pictures on it. It is a very nice kit. I bought it just as me and my wife were in the process of moving so as soon as I got it, it went into storage with all of our other stuff. We are currently having a house built so we are renting a room from a friend until the house is ready. I am going crazy not being able to work on models but when the house is finished, I will get a good size chunk of the basement for my workshop. Patience!! Anyway, it is expensive but in my opinion it is worth it.

Thanks ouizel, I wasn't even aware the other garage kits existed.

The Tony Lamb model looks fantastic. And it's listed as being lightable. Do you have any ballpark figure on the price? I'd email Lamb but if it's really expensive (which I figure it is) I don't want to come looking kinda silly by backing out.

Another option...

I was given a beautiful Serenity Desktop model/ Christmas ornament a couple of years ago.

There are actually three kits that I'm aware of.

1. The Stargazer kit that was mentioned previously.  It's OOP, but available if you search.  1:288 scale.

2. A garage kit mastered by, I believe, a man named Tony Lamb.  You can find it by searching www.resinilluminati.com for 'SHINY'  It's excellent.  1:144 scale.

3. Another garage kit by Alex Kung that falls somewhere in the middle, size-wise.  He doesn't advertise it for sale on his site, (which documents the making of the masters) but if you email him, they are (or were recently) for sale.  http://www.alexkung1.com/scale/serenity/cmain.htm

All of these are resin kits will require far more attention than a standard plastic kit.  Enjoy.

Not cheap but I've got one and it's a pretty nicely molded kit. Haven't started it so I can't say anything about fit.

This guy lists it as out of production but Starship Modeler lists it as being in stock and you might check around for a better price.

Did anyone ever do a scale model of the good ship Serentiy?

Thanks
