AMT/ERTL Enterprise Model
Posted by David DeFilippo on Monday, January 18, 2010 11:53 AM

I recently bought an NCC -1701 Enterprise model and was slighly disapointed in that there are no panel line scribed in the hull parts, no lighting in the domes and there is no paint scheme in the instructions.

Anyhow not to let those things get in my way  of oprotunities  I will proceed.  What I am looking for is  a paint scheme for to try and make the model look a close to the TV show version of the spaceship. It appaears that polarlights has a paint scheme. If someone could make a scan of that instruction I wouls really appreciate it or sugguest a source.

Don't be disappointed.  If you have the kit of the Enterprise from the Original Series, keep in mind that the molds for that are over 40 years old, so don't expect a Tamiya build.  As for the panel lines, they finally got the raised grid removed because it was raised, not sunken and many said inaccurate.  Most people paint thier own lines....

As for painting instructions you'll find that their are many opinions on what color she really was, check over on Starshipmodeler.com and you should be able to get plenty of infromation there.  Another good source is CultTvman.com

Good luck and enjoy the kit!

Are you talking about the Enterprise from the original series, or one of the movie versions?  The ship in the original series had no inscribed or raised hull details.  I painted mine with Testors light aircraft gray, and made the top portion of the sucer section just a tad darker.
